On a Vespa in Rome with a sidecar, in search of truffles in Volterra, on holiday with the Bernina red train, a steak dinner with wine cellar in the Pisa area with a walk in the vineyards, dog trekking in the temple of Minerva in Montefoscoli… Thanks to Tripfordog.com you can have experiences with your dog that you would never have thought possible.

“We have tried everything with my dog – explains Marco Fabris, CEO and founder of Tripfordog.com, the six-legged travel agency -. Our furry friends are not a hindrance, on the contrary, they become not only a companion, but also more fun. It’s great to see how they enjoy themselves and relax with their family. We look around Italy and beyond for unique experiences to do with our four-legged friends. We find restaurants where dogs can also enter the dining room and hotels, when necessary, where they can stay with us, and be with us even during breakfast. There are many things to do and some are very special.”

“The agency was born during a trip I took with my dog Mela, appointed 4-legged president of TripForDog, leaving from Milan and heading for extreme Andalusia,” explains Marco Fabris.

On a Vespa in Rome

You get on a Vespa sidecar with an authorised guide and, with the wind in your hair, you go and discover the wonders of Rome. Did you ever think you could enjoy the Colosseum or the Trevi Fountain from the comfort of your four-legged friend without necessarily being on the sofa at home watching TV? Now you can! Start from Piazza della Repubblica, where, after you have seated your furry friend on board and secured him to his approved harness, you can set off to discover the eternal city.

Prepare yourself for the attention of hundreds of observers, because it’s not every day that you see a bau bau in a Vespa sidecar!

Wasps with sidecars are very special vehicles. For this reason they are only driven by trained and experienced guides/drivers. For reasons of personal safety, participants are not allowed to ride.

Searching for the Volterra truffle

Your dog will learn the basics of becoming a truffle dog with Daniele, the most important truffle hunter and dog breeder in the Volterra area. With him you will do some fun simulations, both for the dog and for the participants. It ends with a lunch based on the truffles used during the presentation.

The experience is enriched by the presence of Mamma Maria, who in the kitchen will prepare the most typical dishes to go with truffles from appetizer to dessert, and a succulent dish will also be prepared for the dogs present, guests of honour.

Discovering Valtellina on the Bernina red train

Travel with your dog on the Bernina Express and discover the magical countryside of the Valtellina and the Swiss Alps. Set off from Tirano to admire the beautiful landscape of the Alps, from the vineyards of Valtellina to the glaciers of the Bernina Pass, together with your four-legged friend.

With the regional train, you have maximum freedom throughout the day to get off at will and enjoy a healthy walk. TripforDog recommends stops in Cavaglia, Ospizio Bernina and Pontresina, perfect for wonderful walks in the superb panorama of the Swiss Alps. You then board the train to relax on this fairytale journey as the beautiful alpine landscape unfolds before your eyes. The trip can be done independently, or with a guide.

Wine cellar in the lands of Pisa with a walk in the vineyard

An interesting food and wine trip, in contact with nature and the scents of the land and its products. The Pisa area offers a wide choice of wineries that are dog friendly, so this experience can always be different. Depending on the booking period, the one most suitable for the participants and the dog will be chosen.

Together with the winemaker you will visit the vineyard and during this beautiful walk, you will learn to appreciate the hard work behind a bottle of wine.

We then move on to the winery to discover the unique winemaking techniques adopted by the producers. The wine is tasted with the food.

Dog Trekking to the Temple of Minerva in Montefoscoli with picnic

A TripForDog guide will accompany you to experience this authentic part of Tuscany through a pleasant walk through the woods, ancient olive trees and small villages of Terre di Pisa, until you reach a hidden gem, the temple of Minerva Medica in Montefoscoli dating back to 1800. Here, amidst legends and stories of freemasonry, galvanic experiments and knights of the past, you can enjoy a relaxing picnic under the holm oaks prepared by a local cook. Delicious dishes are prepared using seasonal farm produce. You will also taste wines from the farm that hosts the temple. The itinerary will be determined according to the needs and preparedness of the participants and their furry friends. A special bowl will be prepared for them.

This is a two-day trip. Accommodation will be in a farmhouse at the foot of Volterra, which is super dog friendly, with water and food available for dogs, who can stay for free at no extra charge. Accommodation is in suites and there is a panoramic terrace to relax on.
