Sicily as a destination of excellence for weddings: this is the message launched in Taormina at the third edition of Dreaming of Sicily by Italy Inspires, which took place from 16 to 19 June 2021. The project, devised by Andrea Naar Alba, destination wedding planner and speaker at the main international events in the sector, sends out a positive signal that the wedding industry is starting up again, and does so by focusing on Sicily as a luxury wedding destination.
Following the success of Italy Inspires’ previous Italian editions at Lake Como and in the Dolomites, the third edition of the event looks to southern Italy and focuses on Sicily. With Dreaming of Sicily 2021, the founder has thus responded to an international demand from bridal couples raising the quality standards and high range of solutions appreciated in weddings, enhancing exclusive partnerships with Sicilian companies and excellences capable of positively influencing the island’s tourism development and its reputation in the world.
For the occasion, the Grand Hotel Timeo and Villa Sant’Andrea, Belmond Hotels, hosted 12 of Italy’s most influential destination and luxury wedding planners, who, in full compliance with Covid’s security protocols, were guided on a sensory and cultural journey aimed at enhancing Sicily’s natural and architectural beauty, in close connection with the excellence of the area, from Isola Bella to Mount Etna.
Typical Sicilian gastronomic seductions, women’s empowerment activities with delicate outdoor rituals, entertainment shows, Sicilian-themed photobooths and local experiences in contact with the territory accompanied the planners in discovering new formats that will most strike the imagination of future brides.
