The Lana Christmas Market, Polvere di Stelle (Stardust), is an event with a special charm. The magical atmosphere created in Lana’s Capuchin Garden by the small trees decorated with glittering red balls, the large luminous spheres positioned throughout the area, the scent of mulled wine and the gastronomy and craftsmanship stands will transport visitors into a small fairytale world.
From 27 November to 24 December 2021, from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. (the food stands will remain open until 9 p.m.), this enchanting place will host more than 20 stalls with authentic South Tyrolean handicrafts, as well as local choirs and music groups during the weekends.
There will also be many moments of entertainment for the whole family, such as bricolage in the sparkle shop and the luminous projection of the fairy tale Stardust on one of the buildings of the Capuchin Garden, which, in a modern and multimedia key, will stimulate the public to reflect on the meaning of Christmas.
Lana’s pedestrian zone will also be decorated and embellished for Advent, and the historic buildings from the centre of Lana di Sopra to Piazza Tribus will be decorated with light cords that enhance their architectural features.
On Sundays 28 November, 12 and 19 December from 2 to 3.30 p.m. and 4 to 5.30 p.m. in the St. Francis Hall in the Capuchin Monastery in Lana there will be “Craft Hours at the Sparkle Shop“, where you can learn how to make St. Nicholas out of milk cartons and other craft materials, or turn various glass containers into small Christmas lanterns, or have fun decorating small Stardust tea bags.
Particularly impressive moments will be the Christmas carols and gospel by the ChoryFeen choir in the Capuchin Garden from 4 to 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday 8 and the Advent Concert with the Männergesangverein male choir in the parish church of Lana di Sotto at 6 p.m.
On Friday, 10 and 17 December, Patrizia, the representative of the farmers’ association, will invite all children to knead, bake and decorate delicious Christmas biscuits in the Sala San Francesco of the Capuchin monastery from 3 to 4.30 p.m. and from 5 to 6.30 p.m.
On Sunday, 12 December, the Lana hunting horn ensemble will perform in the Capuchin garden from 4 to 5.30 p.m. On Saturday, 18 December, at the same time and place, there will be Jingle Bells Rock: a group of singers and the youth choir of the Lana music school will invite you to the X-Mas-Feeling.
On Sunday 19th from 5pm to 6pm the Stimmt’s ensemble will wander around the Capuchin Garden singing Christmas carols by lantern light.
