Valtellina is a magical place at any time of year: in winter with its snow-capped peaks, in autumn with the leaves that slowly change colour and dye the mountain slopes in all shades of red and yellow, and in summer with its wide range of activities that allow you to experience the mountains at a slow pace.
But even in spring there is a spectacle going on that is worth standing in the front row and enjoying the blossoming of the many trees and flowers typical of this area. Below is a series of places and views where you can admire apple orchards, expanses of meadows and trees in blossom, a real virtual journey to discover the Valtellina spring coming back to life.
Valtellina is known for its food and wine products, not only bresaola and pizzoccheri but also apples.
Different varieties of fruit are produced here: Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Gala are just some of the plantations that populate the slopes of Valtellina.
With the arrival of spring, wonderful white flowers grow on the branches of the apple orchards, which, together with the green leaves, create a panorama that invites anyone to lose themselves in the colours and scents typical of this season and the peaks, still not very snowy, that frame everything.
Apple cultivation is an activity that has been handed down from generation to generation and is part of the history of this place. It dominates the territories of Valtellina up to 900 metres and extends mainly in the municipalities of Ponte in Valtellina, Bianzone, Villa di Tirano, Sernio and Lovero.
