Autumn is slow in the Po Delta. Until 19 December, in the evocative scenery offered by one of the most important wetlands in the world, so much so that it has earned recognition as a Unesco International Biosphere Reserve – Mab, it will be possible to enjoy dozens of itineraries inside the nature.
Ideal cycle paths for everyone, perfect for a two-day trip but also for day trips and excursions, walks in the silence of nature to discover the valleys and historical routes, trips on board small and large boats, by sea or through valleys, to enjoy the magic of a land of water and its dreamy landscapes or even with binoculars around your neck observing a true paradise where wetlands, river branches, ancient forests, pine forests and sand dunes welcome and protect many species of birds, some of which are truly rare. More than 370 species of birds can be sighted, including the extremely rich colony of pink flamingos.
From Argenta to Goro, from Mesola to Comacchio, from Ravenna to Cervia, there will be many opportunities to experience the unspoilt nature of these places at a slow pace.
For the whole month of October, for example, you can go on guided canoe tours along the Bevano torrent, in one of the most fascinating natural scenarios of the Po Delta Park, or cross the delicate ecosystem of the impenetrable reed thickets of the Volano on board a small boat, and you can experience the charm of the flooded forest of Punte Alberete on foot or lose yourself in the autumn colours of the San Vitale Pinewoods.
And to the natural beauties you can join the wonders of the culture that distinguishes these territories, discovering through guided tours the masterpieces of the Delizia del Verginese, the Pomposa Abbey or the Churches of Ravenna, just to mention a few examples. And in the capital of mosaics, you can also try your hand in a modern workshop, discovering the art of mosaics.
