Mama Shelter, the hôtellerie brand founded in Paris in 2008 by the Trigano family (co-founders of Club Med), is coming to Italy. It will open in the heart of the “Eternal City” a new hotel called Mama Roma next July.
Located in the Prati district, chosen several times as a film set, Mama Roma will be either a hotel, or an urban refuge, or a gastronomic address or a place where to work, have fun and relax (the Spa will include an indoor pool, sauna, hammam and a small fitness centre). From the first view, Mama Roma’s guests will be welcomed into avant-garde design environments, with mosaic floors, stylised capitals on the walls and ceilings decorated with the works of graphic designer and artist Beniloys. In addition, Mama Roma will offer one of the city’s most attractive rooftops, open from morning until late at night, with a solarium and bar.
“In this Mama we will find everything that shapes our identity: the restaurants, the rooftop, the rooms, the colourful lobby and, obviously the spa and its indoor swimming pool”, says Serge Trigano, founder of Mama Shelter
Spread over six floors, Mama Roma’s 217 cosy rooms were also conceived by the group’s in-house design team, Mama Design Studio. The rooms all feature King Size 5 Stars Bedding, 55 ֞ screen smart TVs that can be controlled from your mobile phone, Wi-Fi and organic bath products made by the French brand Absolution. Mama Shelter’s signature effigies of cartoon characters such as Spiderman and Darth Vader will decorate the light points next to the bed.
“Rome is the magical city par excellence. In this Mama we will find everything that is part of our identity: the restaurants, the rooftop, the designer rooms, the colourful lobby and also: a spa and its indoor pool. We have added a library, to offer our guests a taste of the most magical Italian literature and art”, said Serge Trigano, founder of Mama Shelter.
Two Ateliers – with a maximum capacity of 50 people – illuminated by natural light, complete the offer for the Mice segment, thanks to the most advanced technology for videoconferencing, LED screens and BOSE speakers, as well as a minibar and coffee machine. A “Breakroom” will also have a giant table football table and an outdoor area for playing boules.
