From the shores to the hills of Lake Garda is born the new path for lovers of nature and good wine, 100 kilometers by bike or on foot to discover the product of excellence of the area
The new Cammino del Bardolino, 100 kilometers of paths surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Lake Garda, which can be traveled on foot or by bicycle, on 18 different nature trails that take their name from the most famous wine denomination of the area, will be one of the attractions of the new season. The route connects six towns – Bardolino, Affi, Costermano, Cavaion Veronese, Garda and Rivoli – and networks 61 wineries that have contributed to preserving a peculiar rural landscape, with hills that slope down to the lake shore. Some of these structures offer the possibility to stay in order to live the experience to the fullest and wake up facing exclusive views. Discovering the Cammino del Bardolino means returning to a slow and safe tourism, away from crowds and frenetic rhythms.
The completion of the work has led to the installation of 53 information signs (equipped with QR Code for consultation via app) that indicate the route with special signs and provide useful information and curiosities on places of historical interest – including the Museo del Vino, in Costabella di Bardolino -, religious and artistic and typical products of the area, starting with the tradition of Bardolino Doc. There are also free parking lots to safely leave the car and equipped areas to enjoy a picnic lunch. Everyone can choose on the map the path that best suits their needs: the routes range from the shortest tracks (3 or 4 kilometers) to the most challenging walks up to 20 kilometers.
Inaugurated with the intention of favouring an active protection of the landscape in order to encourage the socio-economic development of the territory, the Cammino del Bardolino thus becomes another precious resource of Italian rural tourism.
