The desire for a holiday wins out over everything. Even the alarmist tones with which the media have conveyed the mandatory Green Pass as a deterrent to hotel bookings and predicted a rash of cancellations to bookings already made for August.
The reality is quite different.
According to the Statistical Observatory of Info Alberghi Srl, August will be a hot month on the Riviera Romagnola. According to the number of e-mails requesting stays received by hotels through the tourist information portal www.info-alberghi.com, in fact, hotels will be full, as much as and perhaps more than in 2019, the last year free from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The most popular resort this year is Rimini (266,574), followed by Riccione (192,552), Bellaria (136,504) and Cattolica (134,912)
In 2021, from 1 January to 31 July, 1,183,874 stay request emails were sent with a check-in date included in August. In the same period in 2020, there were 1,252,778 emails, thanks to the introduction of the holiday bonus, which supported the tourist spending of thousands of Italians. Finally, in 2019, 1,031,967 emails were sent.
To get an idea of the flow of e-mails requesting a stay in August, it is enough to look at one day, for example August 2: with 39,489 requests for a stay in 2021, compared to 19,386 sent on the same day in 2019, 2021 even doubles the stakes.
Not only August. Summer in general is going well: this year, users browsing the portal are 29% more than in 2019
In particular, the analysis of traffic on the portal www.info-alberghi.com in July shows a return to pre-Covid levels of summer 2019, with an average of about 12 thousand visitors per day, a sign that interest in beach holidays is still alive. The peak was recorded on 23 July with 26,781 visitors, at the announcement of the decree-law of 22 July that sanctioned the imminent mandatory Green Pass. It is no coincidence that the most visited page of the month was the one on this very subject, https://www.info-alberghi.com/note/green-pass/, with over 76 thousand views.
