Grado‘s 2021 summer season is all about wellbeing and maximum safety. This is why the four beaches along Grado’s long coastline all facing South have been equipped with more beach umbrellas (maintaining a quality spacing that goes well beyond the norms) in order to meet the demands of a constantly growing number of tourists who are looking for “customised” proposals that meet the various holiday needs.
The “Isola del sole” – the Island of the Sun – has a special care for children and their families
Grado’s enchanting historic centre – similar to Venice, but older – retains its charm for strolling, shopping, visiting craft shops and stopping at the tables of some good restaurants where you can enjoy the island’s excellent seafood cuisine, supplied by the 100 fishing boats of the Grado fleet that always bring fresh fish to the plates of gourmets.
On the other hand, the environmental respect of the town and its fascinating lagoon with an extension of 16,000 hectares dotted with islets and casoni, the typical fishermen’s dwellings continue to reward Grado and its guests with the Blue Flag (33 consecutive awards) and the Green Flag of the paediatricians.
Thanks to its 40 km of cycle paths both within the city and towards the hinterland, its lower than average rate of motorisation, as well as the services dedicated to cycle tourists, for 4 consecutive years (a regional record) the Island has been awarded the 5 bike-smile Yellow Flag by Fiab (the highest award for Bicycle Municipalities of the Italian Federation for the Environment and Bicycle), obtained by only 5 municipalities in Italy.
By virtue of the ratio between the number of inhabitants and km of cycle paths, as well as the other parameters assessed by the Fiab, in 2021 Grado also obtained the absolute highest score among all the participating municipalities.
But, on the Island of the Sun wellness and health are not only on two wheels. In addition to the marine spa, fitness enthusiasts will find many other opportunities, from yoga to Nordic walking, from sailing to kite surfing, from golf to tennis, from padel to sup, from canoeing to kayaking, from skateboarding to rollerblading, from windsurfing to swimming and underwater exploration.
