It will be called Food Valley Bike and it is the seventy kilometre long cycle path that will connect Parma to Busseto, through the Terre Verdiane. Along its route, some of the villages of the Bassa Parmense are rich in history and beauty, such as Sorbolo Mezzani, Colorno, Sissa Trecasali, Roccabianca, Polesine Zibello and, in the province of Reggio Emilia, Brescello, the land of Peppone and Don Camillo.
The cycle path will be inaugurated on 6th of June, on the occasion of the stage of the Giro d’Italia Under 23, the “Peppone Don Camillo” time trial.

The flat route, which repeatedly skirts the Po, has everything it takes to attract cyclists of all ages, from Italy and abroad. In addition to the pleasure of pedalling along the fields of the Bassa Parmense, among wheat, sunflower and tomato crops, the Food Valley Bike itinerary will allow the many gastronomic excellences of the area to be highlighted: in Parma, Prosciutto di Parma and Pasta; in Sorbolo, Tomato and Parmigiano Reggiano; in Mezzani, Anolino; in Colorno, Reggia di Colorno (headquarters of Alma, an international reference point for the culinary world; in Sissa Trecasali, Spalla Cruda di Palasone; in Roccabianca, Cicciolata and ciccioli; in Polesine Zibello, Culatello; in Busseto, Spongata delle terre verdiane.
A digital guide, the Food Valley Bike App, will be available to cyclists. Using Google Maps, the guide, uploaded onto the smartphone, will highlight not only the food and wine references, but also the places of interest to visit, as well as places to eat and stay.
