A trip back to the Middle Ages on an e-bike, along the Via Francigena in the Piacenza area; or a plunge into the legends of the so-called “women’s castles” between Parma, Piacenza and Reggio, such as the Reggia di Colorno, Italy’s Petite Versailles; or the 15th-century castle of San Pietro in Cerro, where you can be surprised by faithful reproductions of the Terracotta Warriors or the world’s smallest gun.
Or take a journey through the flavours of the Food Valley, with Culatello di Zibello DOP, the King of Cured Meats, and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, the undisputed King of Cheeses. Or get lost among the bamboos of Franco Maria Ricci’s Labyrinth, the largest in the world, or in front of the face of the Scapigliata attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, among the wonders of Parma.
An unusual travel diary in the name of “Slow Tourism” is the travel philosophy of “Cara Emilia”, the project conceived by Fidenza Village in partnership with local institutions, which includes 10 itineraries to discover the hidden treasures of the area.
“With this initiative Fidenza Village affirms its cultural commitment to the area by opening its doors, transversally, to the natural, landscape, historical, architectural, food and wine realities in which it is located,” says Davide Rampello, Artistic Director of Fidenza Village for Parma Capital of Italian Culture 2020+21.
“Cara Emilia”, the project conceived by Fidenza Village in collaboration with local institutions, includes 10 itineraries to discover the hidden treasures of the area between Modena, Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia
The 10 tour packages can be viewed on the Fidenza Village website and will be marketed by the Consorzio Parma Piacenza Emilia, through the Piacenza Travel platform.
On social media, places, people and experiences will be the protagonists of an original digital travel diary on the Village’s Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok channels. All of them will be made by 5 content creators from the world of art, fashion, photography and lifestyle. In addition, an illustrated map will guide the hunt for the treasures of Emilia: just frame the QR code under the illustrations for a preview of the destination and the adventures to be experienced, narrated by the voice of Rampello and the video stories of the content creators.
