Discover the Elba island easily and safely, by making available to everyone the digital mapping of its entire territory, from the coasts to the mountains. On Elba Smart Exploring, the first systemic mapping of an area, created by GAT – Gestione Associata per il Turismo dell’Isola d’Elba -, you can select from 400 kilometres of paths and 200 beaches, itineraries full of history and charm.
You can choose the routes yourself, creating your own itinerary, knowing in advance the distances and the level of difficulty of the tracks to be explored on foot or on horseback, by bike or mountain bike.
Elba Smart Exploring is a free service that aims to show the different faces of the island, to experience it through sport, nature, sea, culture and traditions. The site dedicated to the project contains suggested routes, divided between walking and biking, according to interests or moods, the best times of day, which can be downloaded with a click on your phone. These suggestions are constantly updated to meet different needs and take advantage of the seasonal opportunities presented by the area.
With the app, you can select beaches and coves that can be seen filmed from above with drones, admiring them in a 3D version, set in a context of largely unspoilt nature. The mapping has also been completed with bike routes for the “Bike” mode of Google Maps.
