Trieste is getting ready to welcome visitors and tourists with an interesting calendar of Great Exhibitions scheduled until July 2022: from Videogames! until 20 February 2022, Monet e gli Impressionisti in Normandia (Monet and the Impressionists in Normandy) 15 January – 22 May 2022 and Frida Kahlo. Il Caos Dentro (Frida Kahlo. The Chaos Within) 12 March – 23 July 2022.
Thanks to the initiative Trieste gives you the Great Exhibitions promoted by the Trieste Convention and Visitors Bureau, by booking two nights in one of the hotels participating in the promotion, it will be possible to receive a free ticket for one of the Great Exhibitions.
These events will also be the perfect opportunity to discover Trieste and enjoy a weekend in the most Central European city in Italy.
Videogames! – until 20 February 2022 | Salone degli Incanti
The large spaces of the Salone degli Incanti host the first major international exhibition on the world of video games VIDEOGAMES!. From its origins to the contemporary era, video games have evolved from simple pastimes to an integral part of society. The exhibition is divided into 18 chronological stations that take the visitor through the fundamental stages of this evolution – from the first experiments in the 1950s to the boom of the amusement arcades, up to the most modern consoles and the games that have made history – interactive films, advertisements of the time and unique pieces. With a simple, engaging and modern presentation, the exhibition provides a global vision the video games with different learning paths, depending on age and level of knowledge, and allows the public to play with devices, old and new.
Monet e gli Impressionisti in Normandia – from 15 January to 22 May 2022 | Museo Revoltella
Over 70 works by the most famous painters will be the protagonists of the exhibition Monet and the Impressionists in Normandy set up at the Museo Revoltella, an important historical building with an art gallery located in the heart of Trieste. The exhibition includes some of the most famous works of the Impressionist season such as Falesie a Dieppe (1834) by Delacroix, La spiaggia a Trouville (1865) by Courbet, Camille sulla spiaggia (1870) and Barche sulla spiaggia di Étretat (1883) by Monet, Tramonto, veduta di Guernesey (1893) by Renoir.
Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo. Il Caos Dentro – 12 March to 23 July 2022 | Salone degli Incanti
With spring, the Salone degli Incanti in Trieste reopens its spaces for the exhibition Frida Kahlo. Il Caos Dentro (The Chaos Within): a photographic and interactive journey of strong sensory impact that aims to involve the visitor in the life, history and creativity of this extraordinary artist through the use of multimedia. In addition to the works of art presented in Modlight format, the collection also features hundreds of personal photographs, artist portraits, letters, diary pages, clothes and jewellery inspired by the artist, for a 360° journey into Frida’s universe. It will also be possible to appreciate the most representative corners of the interior of her historic home in Mexico City, Casa Azul, which today houses the museum dedicated to her.
