Eight days of events, tens of thousands of visitors, hundreds of businesses involved. Vieste in Love, the love-themed event held in the “pearl of the Gargano“, was a real success. The kermesse, strongly desired by the municipal administration of Vieste and organised by Studio360 of Molfetta, ended on Sunday evening with the Rimbamband Show. A show, that of the crazy and carefree band from Bari, a cross between music and cabaret, with smiles and lots of fun.
“We are proud of the results of this fantastic week – said Rossella Falcone, Vieste’s Councillor for Tourism – because we have fully achieved all our objectives: to extend the summer season, involve local businesses and offer tourists a series of high-level events of various types. The roaring applause at the end of the evening is for us the best possible response”.
The week dedicated to love has conquered all, between love for culture, territory, music and smiles.
Vieste in Love, now in its second edition, opened its doors on Sunday 5 September with the inauguration of “Man”, the 13-metre light installation inspired by Rodin’s “The Thinker“, and then continued with a long series of initiatives. Starting with the Urban Show, an exhibition of acrobatic motorcycling and motor therapy, followed by the “Love Dog Show“, dedicated to the world of dogs in the company of Edoardo Stoppa.
In the middle of the week, “La Vieste en Rose“, a food and wine festival showcasing Puglia’s best rosé wines, accompanied by music, culture and typical Gargano food. “Wonderland“, with children literally mesmerised by the street performers and magic shows, was followed by two events on Friday evening: the Vieste Music Festival, featuring Viestani musical talents, and “Terrazze sonore”, the orchestra playing in the wonderful old town centre. Dulcis in fundo, “Vieste in Tango“, the fabulous evening with the world’s most famous tango players (Miguel Angel Zotto and Daiana Guspero) under the stars and the musical notes of the best Argentine tradition, and the Rimbamband Show.
All this, in the marvellous setting of Marina Piccola, with the evocative lighthouse in the background, and in the frames of the historic centre and the nineteenth-century district.
“We took a gamble and we won it – said Giuseppe Nobiletti, mayor of Vieste -. We wanted to propose an event like Vieste in Love, which we really care about and which we want to make a wonderful habit. I have to say that the bet was won. It’s hard to ask for more and better. For our Vieste, for those who live there every day and for those who choose it for its beauty”.
The decorations also stood out, with the businesses dressed in a love theme and the town’s balconies coloured with passion.
“Tourism, from our point of view – was Rossella Falcone’s final comment – is all about sharing, participation and satisfaction“.
