An entire city is mobilized to live in grand style one of the most beautiful times of the year: Arezzo Città del Natale (Arezzo Christmas Town) is back. The calendar of events organised by the Fondazione Arezzo Intour and realised with the Municipality of Arezzo, from 20 November 2021 to 9 January 2022, every weekend, will dress up the marvellous historical centre of the Tuscan city in festive style.
There will be many attractions to mark the wait for Christmas and accompany the start of the new year, starting from the original path of light installations that will offer an unusual interpretation of architecture and historic buildings, accompanying the visitor in a spectacular and magical itinerary.
Arezzo Città del Natale is a project conceived and desired by the Municipality of Arezzo and today organised by the Fondazione Arezzo Intour, with the collaboration of many cultural and trade associations, local businesses and artists.
The Prato, a large green area dominating the city, will host the Mercato delle Meraviglie (Market of Wonders), rich in gastronomic products and a host of curiosities, the large area dedicated to the Christmas Brick Arezzo Christmas village and the eagerly awaited Ferris wheel.
In Piazza Grande (until 26 December) there is a new appointment with the Christmas Markets organised by Confcommercio Arezzo and the unique atmosphere of the Tyrolean Village, the largest in Italy outside the borders of Tyrol, while inside the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici the Santa Claus House will offer children the chance to take a photo with Santa Claus himself.
Original nativity scenes will be set up in the churches of Arezzo, including the moving nativity scene in the church in Piazza della Badia, while Piazza San Jacopo and Piazza Risorgimento will host a traditional market with small wooden houses offering the typical atmosphere of a Christmas village. Piazza Guido Monaco, on the other hand, will host the Arti fatte a mano (“Handmade arts”) market with a variety of handmade products, from gifts and fancy goods to jewellery and accessories.
And then there will be many special events and collateral initiatives dedicated to the theme of “wonder” that will offer unique and unmissable atmospheres, blending with the artistic and cultural heritage that the city offers.
