“Those times with you on the Amalfi Coast, dear Lina, when in 2002 you honoured us at GustaMinori and then in 2015 you became an honorary citizen of our town!”
The municipal administration and the community of Minori join in the condolences for the passing of the artist and recorder Lina Wertmüller. Already a guest at GustaMinori in 2002, together with her friend Mimmo De Masi, Wertmüller brought prestige to the whole of Italy and never hid her affection for the Amalfi Coast.
Andrea Reale, mayor of Minori: “In 2002 Lina Wertmuller was a guest of GustaMinori and on 13 August 2015 we awarded her honorary citizenship.
A great artist, brilliant, versatile and generous, she contributed with her works to the knowledge of Southern Italy and the Coast in the world. As a tangible sign of admiration and gratitude for the high message she carries, in August 2015 she was awarded honorary citizenship of the city of taste.
“Italian culture is poorer today. We are proud to have had her as a prestigious guest in our little piazza,” adds Reale.
An unforgettable evening for Minori Città del Gusto, on 13 August 2015, when at the end of her show “Un’allegra fin de siecle” we conferred on her the honorary citizenship of Minori,” concluded the mayor, “on the occasion of her 87th birthday in the extraordinary setting of the churchyard of the basilica of Santa Trofimena.
